Pakistan media gate scandal

Pakistan’s real estate tycoon Malik Riaz paid TV anchors and journalists. This list was leaked by one of the ex-employee of the Bahria Town, who has worked in the I.T. Department and this person also had access to all computers connected to Bahria Town’s network including Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz’s personal computers. This document, along with other 100s of other proofs were obtained from hacked computers. The documents obtained contain transactions of all the bank accounts, bank statements, e-mails sent/received and information on deals/projects.

In order to find out if the information stated in the document is authentic, anybody can contact the banks listed in the document, provide them with the account number and get details on the transactions listed. The reason behind releasing this document is to show people of Pakistan the real faces of the media personals and TV Channels. We watch their impressive shows, read their columns and believe their opinions and reporting. But matter of the fact is that, most of the reporting is paid and biased. We as a nation need to realize that our country is struggling to survive and we need to kick out the enemies of state out of our country to save our beloved country.

Mubashir Luqman

Mubashir Luqman has been accused of being on the payroll of various influential people and fringe outlawed Muslim sects. These include Chaudry Shujat[2] and Malik Riaz

On July 30, 2010, a plea against Mubashir Luqman was dismissed. Mian Mehmood, a resident of PECHS, Block 6, Karachi, had filed a petition in the court of additional district and sessions judge (east), Sanaullah Ghori. The petitioner held that on June 2, 2010, the channel broadcasted its programme (Point-Blank with Luqman) in which spiritual leader of Qadianis Ghulam Ahmad was also invited, “which hurt my and millions of fellow Muslims’ religious sensibilities”, said the petitioner.

On 7 September 1974, The Parliament of Pakistan through a unanimous vote declared Qadianis non Muslims and this act of Parliament received the assent of the President and was made law.

Mubashir Luqman has been accused of having affairs with film actresses Resham and Zara Sheikh.

After his interview with Malik Riaz dubbed the Interview Gate Fiasco, Mubashir Luqman was accused of running away from the country to avoid a judicial probe in the interview scandal.

Mubashir Luqman was fired from Dunya TV after the Malik Riaz Interview was Leaked.

According to reports from Dunya TV, Nasim Zehra, Director Current Affairs has resigned to protest against the non-professional practices going on within the Dunya TV vis a vis Mubashir Luqman's interview with Malik Riaz.

Mubashir Lucman who hosted a two-hour long current affairs show with real estate tycoon, Malik Riaz was suspended over his on-air and off-air remarks in the interview.

In his replies on Twitter Mubashir Lucman expressed to answer all accusations against him.

He also has a current-affairs program on Geo TV and owns Vanguard Books, a publishing house and chain of bookstores.

In 1999, he was arrested by Inter-Services Intelligence following an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation on government corruption, and detained for almost a month without charges. In 2008 and 2009, he was subject to death threats from Islamist groups for his papers' anti-fundamentalist stances.

Hamid Mir

Hamid Mir born 23 July 1966  is a Pakistani journalist and editor. He is also a news anchor, terrorism expert, and security analyst who regularly participates in international conferences. Mazhar Abbas

He is deputy director of ARY News Television, the second 24-hour after geo, bilingual news channel in Pakistan, and the secretary general of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists. He is also brother of DG ISPR Major General Ather Abbas.

Abbas, who has worked as a journalist for nearly thirty years, has received multiple threats as a result of his work. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, the Mohajir Rabita Council, a political group in the southern Sindh province allied with the MQM, put Abbas on its "hit list". After protesting the closing of three independent TV channels for their reporting on demonstrations against President Musharraf, Abbas was charged by police in early 2007. In 2007, he won an International Press Freedom Award from the Committee to Protect Journalists. The award is given for journalists who show courage in defending press freedom in the face of attacks, threats or imprisonment. He also won the 2009 Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism.

Aftab Iqbal
